Here’s a rundown of this weekend’s Memorial Day festivities.

Saturday-Monday – Utica's Sertoma Ice Cream Festival

Festival Hours: Saturday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Monday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The parade will form at Utica High School, located at the intersection of Church and Jefferson streets. All units should be in place by 10 a.m. The parade moves promptly at 11 a.m. and covers 1 1/2 miles. The riding horses and ponies will unload and/or meet at the village barn behind the high school. Hitch horses will unload on the grass area south of the bowling alley along the railroad tracks off Washington Street. Parade marshals will be on hand to assist participants at the park and the high school. Awards will be presented for each of the various categories participating, and a trophy will be awarded for Overall Best of Show. Awards will be presented after the parade in front of the high school.

Memorial Day, Monday

  • Fredericktown 
Annual Memorial Day parade and festivities presented by the Fredericktown American Legion Post 500 and the Village of Fredericktown.

Parade Schedule

8:30 a.m., staging at Village Administration Building; 9 a.m., Patriotic Bike Decorating Contest. No electric bikes or scooters. Cash prizes. Sponsored by Tots to Teens Fredericktown OCCL; 9:30 a.m., bike decorating contest judging; 10 a.m., invocation, flag raising, national anthem, laying of the wreath, parade step-off; 10:30 a.m., Memorial Day Ceremony at Forest Cemetery.

  • Danville
The parade takes place at 10 a.m., starting at the square and ending in Danville Memorial Park. The lineup for the parade starts at Plum Street beginning at 9 a.m.

  • Centerburg 
The parade takes place at 10:45 a.m., starting at the corner of Hartford Avenue and Church Street and traveling to the East View Cemetery at Hartford Avenue and White Road.
