MOUNT VERNON – Knox Community Hospital recognizes the Center for Wound Healing, a recipient of the Center of Distinction award by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.

The Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including a higher than 92% patient satisfaction rate.

“Being the only wound care center in the county means we serve a critical role,” Director of the KCH Center for Wound Healing Vicki Kildoo said in the release. “The quality care we provide to patients benefits the entire community. When wounds are healed, our patients can resume their daily activities and enjoy life again.”

The Center is staffed with a unique team of doctors, advanced providers and nurses, all dedicated to healing chronic wounds. They provide all the latest techniques and technologies, including hyperbaric oxygen chambers to treat hard-to-heal wounds. This expert team cares for people whose open sores have resisted traditional treatment.

The Center for Wound Healing is a member of the Healogics network of more than 600 Wound Care Centers and offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.
