NOTICE OF
PUBLIC HEARING
The Knox County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in order to discuss the proposed PY 2023 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Critical Infrastructure grant application. The hearing will be held in the large board room at the Commissioners’ Office, 117 East High Street, Suite 161, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050.
The hearing is to give citizens an adequate opportunity to review and comment on the proposed CDBG Program applications before the County submits the grant application to the Ohio Department of Development on or before June 14, 2023.
Knox County intends to apply for a $500,000 competitive Critical Infrastructure Grant to install a waterline loop from the well field to State Route 62 in the Village of Martinsburg. Of this, $470,000 will go to the project and $30,000 for Administration. The Village of Martinsburg will contribute $329,500. The Village of Martinsburg is 57.69 % LMI; meeting a CDBG National Objective of LMI Area-wide Benefit.
Awards for the proposed grants will be announced in August 2023 and all work must be completed by August 2025. There are no known citizen views and comments.
Citizens are encouraged to attend the public hearing in order to provide input and comment on the proposed applications before they are submitted to the Ohio Department of Development on June 14, 2023.
