The Clever Clovers 4-H Club met at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 17, at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. Seven members, three Cloverbuds, and three advisors were present. Pledges were led by President James Bonnette while Secretary Phoebe Hults called roll and read the minutes of the March 20 meeting and Treasurer Jasper Bruff gave the treasurer’s report.
Three members gave demonstrations: Phoebe Hults explained how to interpret measurements and other information on a sewing pattern envelope. Jesse Staggers discussed financial considerations for a small business using examples from his lawn-mowing job. Reagan Stump talked about the MyPlate food groups, healthy eating choices, and how to use the MyPlate.gov calculator to determine personal nutritional needs.
Vice President and Health Officer Lilly Schlairet gave a report on oral hygiene and all members brainstormed service projects and fair booth ideas.
Recreation Leader Reagan Stump led a game of “Never Have I Ever, and refreshments were provided by the Staggers family.
At prior meetings this spring, 2023 officers were elected, and Nevaeh Webster gave a demonstration on duck safety, featuring two of her animals.
The club also had a fun outing with bowling and pizza in March. The Clever Clovers’ next meeting will be Monday, May 1, with demonstrations to be given by Jasper Bruff and Reagan Stump.
