Northmor 2 Mount Gilead 0

In a low-scoring battle between Northmor and Mount Gilead on April 3, the Golden Knights eked out a 2-0 victory behind the no-hit pitching of Grant Bentley. Bentley needed only 73 pitches to dispatch the Indians over seven innings, walking one, hitting two batters and striking out five. Bentley’s only trouble came in the fourth, with a hit batter and a walk to start the inning. He then retired the final three hitters in the inning. Bentley connected for a hit and drove in the Knights’ first run in the third. Cooper Thomas had two singles and an RBI for Northmor.

Fredericktown 7, Cardington-Lincoln 6

Scoring two runs on an error in the fifth, the Fredericktown Freddies came from behind to beat Cardington-Lincoln 7-6 on April 4. Both teams put up three runs in the first, and the score was tied 5-5 when Kaid Carpenter hit a tough two-out, grass-cutter with two aboard in the fifth to score Korbin McGowan and Logan Hansen. Brady Lester and Xavier Mullins both had two hits for Fredericktown and Kaiden Beach had a pair of knocks for C-L.
