FREDERICKTOWN – The Fredericktown Quilters Market Day (QMD) is back in full force on April 15.
After the QMD was cancelled twice due to COVID-19 and affected the year after, the event – which can be described as a "flea market for quilters" – will be held at Fredericktown Schools, 111 Stadium Dr.
The event will feature a marketplace where attendees can buy quilting tools, fabric, books, patterns, fat quarters, quilted items and more. A quilt show featuring the talents of local quilters will be on display. If you are hiding grandma's handmade quilt, it is time to share the beauty for others to enjoy. Demonstrations, and a fat quarter drawing will also be held (bring one to enter).
There will be a quilt demonstration at 10:30 a.m. and a Featherweight maintenance class from noon to 2 p.m.
Quilters can rent tables for $20 each to sell their “stash” and lunch will be available for purchase.
Recyclable shopping bags, donated by John Walsh at Fredericktown Chevrolet, will be given to the first 200 people.
To volunteer or help with the event, please call 740-398-7423. Volunteers assist with the setup and tear down of the venue and assist customers and vendors carry things to and from their vehicles. Student groups are welcome.
Visit fredericktown.org/qmd/ for applications for vendor tables, to enter your quilt in the quilt show or any additional questions.
