Jodi Pfarr will return to discuss her book “The Urgency of Awareness – Unlocking the Power Within Individual, Organizational and Community Efforts.” Pfarr is a dynamic speaker full of energy and always adds humor to her presentation. The workshop is sponsored by several local organizations and agencies in the community and is provided for first responders, social workers, nurses, mental-health workers and other interested people. The Philander Chase Conservancy and Kokosing Nature Preserve will present "Where the Bodies are Buried" with Greg Melville '92. "Think Green: It's Not Just a Color": The Ohio State University Extension is offering a free email wellness challenge with tips to help you optimize your health and well-being. Any adult with an email account may participate. "Stress management," "refreshing your space," "keeping more green back," "enjoying nature," "green with food" and "aging well" are the six topics the challenge will cover.

Claire Fraise will present an author reading and signing. Fraise began her undergraduate studies as a creative writing major at Kenyon College, where she got the idea for her supernatural thriller series, They Stay. "They Return," the third book in the series, follows the mystery of a missing kid, a girl who sees ghosts and a horrifying crime only four outcasts have the power to stop. Set in small-town Ohio, the real horrors for these kids are domestic abuse, addiction, foster care and absent parents — not the ghosts they meet. A portion of the book sales will be donated to New Directions Treatment Center in Ohio.
