MOUNT VERNON – The Repair Café will be held Saturday, Feb. 18, from 1-4 p.m. in its usual spot in the St. Paul's Church Hall basement, 100 E. High St., Mount Vernon.

Have something that you can't repair on your own? Maybe something that you'd normally throw away, but would rather be able to use again? The Repair Café of Knox County can help. Volunteers will give their best shot toward getting it working again, for free. Types of repairs include those for wooden items, electrical items, toys, computers, bikes and more.

To keep safe social distances, there will be a check-in on the sidewalk outside the door. Drop off the items in need of repair and stop by later to pick them up. While the services are free, there will be a donation jar at the check-in table, which funds snacks, supplies and printing costs.

More volunteers are welcome, both experienced or those looking to gain more experience. Contact organizer Mark Tillack at mtillack44@gmail.com, 330-377-4387 or 740-291-9125.

Local businesses that do repair work are also welcome to volunteer and bring their business cards.

According to Tillack's flyer for the event, "[Businesses] are welcome to put out their business card and direct people their way for further repair and parts services. We love promoting local business!"

Future planned dates (all at the same time and place) are May 20, Aug. 19 and Nov. 18.
