Bladensburg Community Center meeting to discuss how to defeat scammers

The Bladensburg Community Center, in conjunction with Senior Medicare Patrol, is hosting a FREE Scam Alert presentation: How to Avoid Being Scammed. Join us on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of the Bladensburg Community Center, located at 25821 New Guilford Road, Bladensburg, Ohio.

Learn how to protect yourself and family members of all ages. The presentation will discuss medical identity theft, Medicare fraud, internet scams, phone scams and threats of all sorts. It will also share how to recognize a scam and how and where to report being victimized or to report a scam. You can protect yourself and your loved ones when you better understand how scammers work and the most common scams. Inform yourself before becoming a victim. The Ohio Senior Medicare patrol presents this program.

This is a free presentation for anyone who wishes to protect themselves or any family members (especially the elderly) from theft and scams. The program will last between 60 and 90 minutes. Light refreshments will be served.
