MOUNT VERNON – Ralph M. Bross, 94, of Mount Vernon passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, at the Knox Community Hospital.

He was born on Nov. 21, 1928, in Knox County, Ohio, to the late Robert and Alice (Gardner) Bross. Ralph was employed at American National Can, which became Continental Can, from which he retired after 43 years of service. 

He enjoyed fishing, baking and horse racing. He was a proud woodworker and was a true craftsman who made cabinets and homes in Mount Vernon. Ralph also enjoyed the simpler things in life, like family and a good conversation. He was a veteran serving in the United States Army, on the front lines, during the Korean War.

He is survived by his children, Jerry Bross, Marsha (Bob) Devlin, Tracey Varela, Doyle (Mary Jo) Bross; nine grandchildren, Dusten Bross, Denean (Cody) Scott, Carlie Bross, Lauren Varela, Rob Devlin, Quinn (Alex) Wakshinski, Perry Devlin, Tate (Sam) Wright, Saige Devlin; and many great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Bross; his granddaughter Larisa Varela; and his brother and five sisters.

Friends may call on Monday, Feb. 6, at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m. A service will take place on Tuesday at the funeral home, beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Marvin Haught officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council, will take place in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
