Twenty members of Morgan Grange met Jan. 13, and Mary Miller was initiated as our newest member. Our opening song was "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover" and roll call was taken and minutes were read and approved.

Jim Hughes reported that the new furnace in the Grange Hall has been installed by Long's Heating and Cooling and instruction was given on the operation of the electronic thermostat. Ned Campbell reported that dartball season has started. Cindy Campbell thanked those who distributed the fruit plates and thank you notes for the plates were received from Eddie and Nancy Wilkins, Shirley Laymon, Mancel Roahrig and Ron and Aileen Hiltner. Sue Bateman is now working at the Ohio State Grange office as a part-time bookkeeper. The Lecturer/Community Service Conference will be held March 4. A decision was made by the members to discontinue our participation with the Adopt-a-Highway program.

Concerns were expressed for Terri Barber and Evelyn Spray. Members with birthdays include Tom Debolt, Pierce Jordan, Glenna Lewis, Jim McLaughlin, Vicki Newton, Marjorie Raines and Rita Smith.

Lecturer JoAnn Walton's program consisted of facts about which months besides January have Friday the 13th. Everyone present was asked to choose a number and Sue Bateman chose the lucky number and received a Friday the 13th prize. We also celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday this month and the 60th anniversary this year of his speech – "I have a dream." JoAnn passed out word find and word scrambler pages to members.

Everyone joined in singing our closing song, "Happy Birthday." Refreshments were served following the meeting. Morgan members will meet again on Friday, Feb. 10, at 7:30 p.m.
