Wayne Grange met on Friday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m. Master Jordan Miller called the meeting to order with 12 members, one guest and two children present.

The charter was draped in memory of David Dalrymple, who passed away in December.

As legislative chairperson, Miller reported that the federal government passed a temporary budget. As a result, federal agencies will be funded until February, when the newly elected legislators consider the budget.

Women's Activity Chairperson Bev Edwards reported that the grange served the Knox County Township Association dinner on Dec. 13. Edwards thanked all who helped make food and serve the 69 people present. Margaret Ann Ruhl asked the Township Association to get their reservations in sooner so we can contact Lannings to prepare the meat. If they only get the number to us on Sunday before the Tuesday of the meal, they will get ham, as this doesn't give Lannings time to prepare another type of meat.

Miller announced that dartball leagues are starting in January. Anyone wanting to play is welcome. You don't have to be a member to participate, but you need to be 10 years or older. Games are played at the grange halls on Sunday afternoons. Contact Miller if you are interested.

Congratulations to Terri Moore for receiving a certificate for her Lecturer's Report. Heather Miller had three pictures entered in the Ohio State Grange photography contest. Margaret Ann Ruhl received a certificate for community service participation. A certificate was also given to Wayne Grange for the nomination of our spotlight on service to the Baldwin Shriners Dinner. A certificate also was given that recognizes the nomination of David Dalrymple as Granger of the Year. Congratulations to Officer Rene Joris for Non-Member Police Officer of the Year and to Margaret Ann Ruhl for Ohio State Granger of the Year. Mary Beutel received first place at the Ohio State Grange Convention for her plastic canvas entry and second place for her embroidery of two pillowcases.

Community Service Chairperson Margaret Ann Ruhl reported that she would take the pop tabs to the recycling this month. All monies collected will go to the Ronald McDonald House in Columbus. Ruhl also plans to take pill bottles to the Matthew 25 Miniseries in Cincinnati (on a good day). Suggestions on places to donate to were passed out and will be totaled at the next meeting, with the top three being given money collected from the Fredericktown Farmer's Market.

Miller welcomed new member Deb Hamilton to the meeting.

With the passing of Treasurer David Dalrymple, we needed to elect a new treasurer. Miller was nominated and elected, which left the master position open. Bev Edwards was nominated and elected our new master, which left an opening on the Executive Committee. Deb Hamilton was elected to the Executive Committee, so now all positions are filled for the grange year.

The grange decided to move the annual square dance from Jan. 7 to Feb. 4. Terri Moore will look into getting a band and report at the next meeting.

Belinda Litt is the administrator of the grange's Facebook account, and she will also notify WMVO of upcoming meetings and events.

The Lecturer's Program by Moore included decorating the Christmas tree. All members were to bring an ornament to placed on the tree. Deb Hamilton had favors she made with M&M's inside. Those who had all-one-color M&M's won a prize. Deb Hamilton read trivia questions on Santa Claus, Margaret Ann Ruhl read trivia questions on Christmas movies and Bev Edwards read trivia questions on reindeer. Belinda Litt had pictures that everyone had to guess the Christmas song that went with the pictures.

The meeting was adjourned, with the next meeting set for Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. Cathy and Dave Morey with Esther Balcom are on the program.
