MOUNT VERNON – Wayne H. Fry, 82, of Mount Vernon passed away at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus on Nov. 2, 2022. He was born August 1, 1940, to Jack and Lillian (Smith) Fry in Ashland, OH.
Wayne was a member of the Moose in Mount Vernon. He worked at Continental Can, managed a Days Inn in Helena, MT, and retired from Schneider Trucking as a truck driver. Wayne was a football fan, rooting for OSU, the Browns and the Bengals. He enjoyed gardening, reading and country music in his spare time. He loved food and was always first in line after the children. He was a wonderful man with a kind heart and was always quick with a one-liner.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Barbara (Statzer) Fry; a daughter, Cathy (Bryan) Elswick of Bladensburg, OH; step-children Gidget (Mark) Graves of Gahanna, OH, and Robert Stringfellow of Gambier; a brother, Carl (Sharon) Fry of California; four grandchildren, Christopher Elswick, Aaden Elswick, Jared Elswick, all of Bladensburg, OH, and Ashlie Graves of Bellville, OH; a great-grandson, Karsyn Donelson; a niece, Terri (Tom) Tackett of California; nephews Tom Fry of California and C. Scott Fry of Texas; and several great-nieces and -nephews whom he dearly loved.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.

Per Wayne’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.
