Vote for sensible women

To the Editor:

Most Ohioans believe in fair representation and overwhelmingly have voted twice to end gerrymandering. We believed that the newly formed redistricting commission would follow the will of the voters and create fair and competitive districts. Unfortunately, we were wrong

The redistricting commission has opposed voters and the Ohio Supreme Court endlessly to retain extreme gerrymandered districts. This undermines citizens’ voting voice: making our vote meaningless in several legislative races and, more importantly, disengages legislators from responsibility to us, their electors. Let’s bring some balance to this situation by voting in a reasonable woman’s voice to the Ohio governorship.

Nan Whaley, as governor, would reside on the redistricting commission and would better direct it to do as voters have demanded; something Mike DeWine has failed to do. We deserve democracy in Ohio with fair representation in Ohio and lawmakers who strengthen our democracy by serving the will of the people. Before you vote on Nov. 8, please take an hour to listen to Nan Whaley’s interview by NBC4 host Colleen Marshall: held Oct 19, 2022, in lieu of debate that DeWine declined. The interview format was enlightening…imagine that: https://youtu.be/6zI1SKIq7wk
