BLADENSBURG – The refurbished old Bladensburg Elementary School is now the home of the Bladensburg Community Center, and will again be offering an Art & Craft Show on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The center is located at 25821 New Guilford Road.
We will be hosting locally acclaimed artist Benny Hershberger who specializes in regional Plein Air oil paintings! Something fun added this year will be unique and delightfully warm, hand-made mittens, repurposed from wool sweaters! Check out Kozy Mittens!
We will be joined by all sorts of wonderful local artisans who have created hand-built and wheel-thrown pottery, paintings and cards, hand-woven rugs, lovely wreaths, knitted and crocheted treasures, and much, much more! This a great opportunity to support local artists and crafters, and fill your home or complete your gift list with hand-made items.
"We are thrilled to be hosting another Art & Craft Show in Bladensburg this year,” said Kim Davidson, President of the Bladensburg Community Heritage Foundation, which operates the Bladensburg Community Center. “There will be a variety of artisans and crafters available, and we should have something that will interest just about everyone! We will also have delicious food available for lunch, on a donation basis, through a local service group, the East Knox Lions Club, and there will be FREE door prizes! The gym will be open, as well as the library, so your kids can expend their energies, as YOU shop in peace. Admission is FREE and there is plenty of FREE parking as well.”
