Meeting on food insecurity planned for October

The Knox County Local Food Council will have a public meeting on how to step up the quality of pantries and share resources on how the community can work together to solve food insecurity.

The council, in cooperation with Knox County Foundation, Food for the Hungry and Knox Public Health, invites representatives from local food pantries, hot meals programs and other organizations focused on food insecurity to a free luncheon on Oct. 18 from noon-1:30 p.m. at the Ramser 4-H Activity Center (700 Perimeter Drive).

The luncheon will focus on how the community can work together to solve food insecurity and share resources. OSU Voices for Food will unveil its countywide Heal Mapps project, Food For The Hungry and Knox County Foundation will share its grant processes and a new grant scorecard, and Knox Public Health and the OSU Extension Office will provide tools available through their organizations.
