1 dead in single vehicle crash on State Route 13

A 44-year-old Crestline man died in a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday night on State Route 13 near milepost 16 in Morris Township, Knox County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OHSP) reported that Timothy D. Moyer was operating a 2009 Honda Civic northbound on State Route 13 at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 30 when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole.

Moyer was pronounced dead on the scene by medical personnel. The OSHP reported in a media release that he was not wearing a seat belt.

Nicole A. Lambert, 36, also of Crestline, was a passenger in the vehicle. She suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown by Air Evac to Grant Medical Center.

The OHSP reported that alcohol and drugs of abuse are unknown factors in the crash.

Agencies assisting on the scene included the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, Fredericktown Police Department, Fredericktown Fire and EMS, Mount Vernon Fire and EMS, and Air Evac.

The crash remains under investigation by the Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
