UTICA – Clara Mae (Coblentz) Miller, 87, of Utica died Aug. 12, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Uniontown, Ohio, on Feb. 25, 1935, to the late Moses A. and Lydiann (Erb) Coblentz.
She was married Nov. 17, 1955, to Emanuel E. Miller, who preceded her in death. To this union were born eight children: Carol Ann (Dan) Hostetler, Utica; Ruth Elaine (Marlin) Miller, Sarasota, Fla.; Timothy Ray (Sarah) Miller, Sarasota, Fla.; James Alan (Carolyn) Miller, Sarasota, Fla.; Daniel Ellis (Carolyn) Miller, Utica; David Emanuel (Wanda) Miller, Utica; Darryl Eugene (Renee) Miller, Gambier; and Michael Andrew Miller, Sarasota, Fla.; 46 grandchildren; and 48 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brothers, John and Moses Jr., and her sisters, Mary, Emma and Anna.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Andy, Pete and Paul Coblentz, and her sisters, Fannie, Ada and Lillie.
She accepted Jesus as her savior in her youth and was a faithful member at Melita Fellowship Church. She loved her family and was an avid gardener her whole life. Cooking and baking for her family and many friends added much joy to her life. This legacy lives on in her family.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Aug. 17, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Melita Fellowship Church, 9956 Camp Ohio Road, Utica. Funeral will be Thursday, Aug. 18, at 10:30 a.m. with Alan Byler officiating. Burial will follow in the Melita Cemetery.
