Over the past 20 years, NAMI Knox and Licking Counties executive director Dodie Melvin has dedicated her life to NAMI KLC’s mission of improving the quality of life for consumers of mental health services, their families and friends by mutual support, education, advocacy and advancement of research.  Over this past year, Dodie has been working to transition and pass her legacy on to a new executive director.

NAMI KLC announce Dr. K.C. Montoya as its new executive director. Montoya has been working in the behavioral health field for the last 8 years as both a therapist and administrator.

“NAMI has so much to offer," Montoya said. "In the core of my heart, I believe in its mission of supporting, educating and advocating for those in need in Knox and Licking counties. This is my home, and I am lucky enough to be able to give back to it. The fact that Dodie trusts me enough to take over is such a reward, and I am excited to continue with the legacy that she is leaving.”

NAMI KLC is currently seeking volunteers in both Knox and Licking counties. Those interested may reach out to KMontoya@namiklc.org or visit the website, namiklc.org.
