In spite of the bad weather – a wet spring delaying planting, tornado, damaging high winds, hail, an extended dry period and 90-degree temperatures – area gardeners were able to show many excellent horticulture exhibits at the Knox County Fair Horticulture Flower Show on July 25.
There were adult exhibits of roses, dahlias, gladiolus, daylilies (Hemerocallis), perennials, hostas, herbs, vegetables and container-grown plants. Juniors displayed perennials, marigolds, zinnias, petunias, sunflowers, vegetables and container-grown plants.
