JOLIET, Ill. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University outdoor track and field team competed in the Last Chance Meet, hosted by St. Francis (Ill.) on May 13-14.
MVNU entered the meet looking to add to its group of NAIA national qualifiers, and it did just that as it saw the 4x400-meter relay team of Erich Rhodeback, Jaden Haldeman, Liam Near and Marcus Whaley punch their tickets to the nationals. The group finished with a “B” standard time of 3:17.01 in the event.
Terril Skinner also joined the group that will be going to Gulf Shores, Ala., on May 25-27. Skinner placed third overall in the 110M hurdles with an “A” standard time of 14.54 seconds. Skinner’s fellow hurdler, Rhodeback, claimed second in the event with an “A” standard time of 14.48 seconds.
The men’s 4x400M relay team and Skinner will join the group of Rhodeback (110M hurdles, 400M hurdles), Kyler Dickey (shot put) and Macy Weaver (half marathon) as MVNU’s 2022 outdoor nationals qualifiers.
