Baseball – Pitcher of the Week – Alex Gow

Kenyon senior Alex Gow turned in a strong performance on the mound against Oberlin to gain the NCAC nod as its Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Gow went the distance in the Lords' win, striking out 11 while giving up only one earned run. In the Lords' 3-2 win over the Yeomen, Gow pitched a complete game and scattered five hits. With his 11 strikeouts against Oberlin, the senior moved into fourth on the single-season strikeouts leader board and fifth in career strikeouts. Gow currently ranks 20th nationally in strikeouts per nine innings at 13.27 and 10th in total strikeouts with 88. Gow, a first-time recipient this season, moved his overall record to 7-1 on the mound.

Men’s Lacrosse Athlete of the Week – Mayo Amorello

After helping the Kenyon College men's lacrosse team to a 2-0 week Kenyon senior Mayo Amorello was recognized by the NCAC as its men's lacrosse Athlete of the Week. Last week, Amorello led the Lords to two key conference wins against Oberlin College and Ohio Wesleyan University. Against the Yeomen, Amorello notched 16 saves, allowing only five goals. The senior goalkeeper registered another double-digit saves game against the Battling Bishops, totaling 11 saves. Over the course of both games, the Wenham, Mass., native posted a 64% save percentage. The Lords' win against Ohio Wesleyan secured their highest seed for the conference tournament in program history and the first win over the Battling Bishops since 2012.
