MOUNT VERNON – Nancy B. Moree, 81, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Morrow Manor.

Nancy was born in Mount Vernon on July 6, 1940, the daughter of Doyal C. and Helen E. (Stull) Miller. She was a 1958 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and a 1960 graduate of 3B Beauty College.

One night at a drive-in restaurant, a nice convertible pulled up beside her. David E. Moree was the motorist, and the pair fell in love and soon married on Nov. 25, 1961. They built a house in Lexington and in 1966 moved from Fredericktown to start their family. Nancy was a beautician and even after "retiring" invited friends and neighbors over to do their hair. She also worked at Ray Bush Colonial Furniture and the Richland Co. Board of Elections, but her main focus was creating a warm and loving home for her husband David, son Michael and daughter Shelly.

In free time, Nancy liked to tend to her flowerbeds, mow the lawn, visit flea markets and spoil her many pets. She was outgoing and never met a stranger or an animal she didn’t like. She enjoyed talking on the phone and brightening the day for friends and family. Nancy will be dearly missed – most especially by her children.

She is survived by two children, Michael Moree and Michele "Shelly" Moree, both of Columbus; sister-in-law Elaine Miller of Mount Vernon; along with a niece and numerous nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, David Edward Moree (1936 - 2013); her sister Jane Houck; her brother Dale Miller; and an infant son Jeffery.

Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society of Richland County (3025 Park Ave. W, Ontario, OH 44906) or Hospice of Morrow County (228 South St., Mount Gilead, OH 43338).
