Kenyon’s Lynch tabbed NCAC Pitcher of the Week

After he helped the Kenyon College Lords to a perfect 5-0 week and extend their win streak to eight games, the North Coast Athletic Conference named Frank Lynch its Pitcher of the Week. In two starts, Lynch registered a 1-0 record in 8 2/3 innings of work, allowing just one run in that time.

In Kenyon’s March 29 home win over Bluffton (6-3), Lynch went 2 1/3 innings, allowing one earned run and one hit and striking out two. After the Lords defeated Hiram in Game 1, Lynch took the mound for Kenyon in Game 2 to defeat the Terriers 5-0. The first-year player pitched his way to seven strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings without giving up a run. Against the Terriers, Lynch limited traffic on the base paths, scattering five hits and a walk. Over his 8 2/3 innings of work, he held the Terriers to a .188 batting average.

Lynch started the season with two wins, no losses, a 2.29 ERA and 18 strikeouts.

Ladies No. 1 net player Beshentseva named Tennis Athlete of the Week

Kenyon senior Daria Beshentseva nearly had a perfect week at the Midwest Invitational, going 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 1-1 at No 1 doubles.
