MOUNT VERNON – The Mount Vernon Brewing Company will be holding a drive to benefit Food For The Hungry of Knox County during the month of April.

During hours of operation, customers who donate at least five unexpired, nonperishable food items will receive 10% off their tabs.

The Mount Vernon Brewing Company desires to do a drive every month as a give-back to the community in response to the help and kindness received from many local organizations during their own childhood.

“As a company, we feel the community has been so good to us and our small business. It’s only right that we give back in any way we can,” said Tina Ballantyne, cofounder and brewmaster. “So far we have done drives for New Directions, Winter Sanctuary, Habitat for Humanity and for local people in need of help.”

The Mount Vernon Brewing Company is at 7 N. Main St. in Mount Vernon.

Hours of operation are as follows:

  • Thursdays and Fridays: 5-10 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 3-10 p.m.
  • Sundays: 5-9 p.m.
