UTICA – Charles Russell “Charlie” Kidd, 89, formerly of Utica, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022.

Charlie was a member of the Utica Church of Christ, Buckeye Horse Pullers Association and USTA. He pulled horses for over 50 years and in his later years owned Standardbred horses with his wife, Kathleen. Charlie owned and operated Kidd Drilling until his retirement.

He is survived by his son, Kenny (Amber) Kidd; three sisters, Shirley (Jim) Guilliams, Virginia Evans and Evelyn Mardis; nieces; and several nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Kathleen Kidd; sister, Lucille Cline; and brothers, William and Carl Kidd.

Sincerest appreciation to Virginia, Shirley and Jim for their endless support over the last year and Deb Curran in the past months.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Ohio Eastern Star Home, 1451 Gambier Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.

Visitation will be Monday from 11-1 p.m. at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark with service at 1 p.m. Burial to follow at Rocky Fork Cemetery.
