MOUNT VERNON – The Area Development Foundation, Knox County’s economic development agency, is seeking community input for its study of child-care needs.

From now until March 4, area residents are invited to participate in the survey online at forms.gle/9EiUmRyb1GbMJAZr9 or by visiting KnoxADF.com.

The foundation launched the needs assessment in response to growing demand for child-care services, according to a foundation press release. Many employers report that the lack of child-care options in Knox County makes it harder to find new hires and keep current employees.

“Child care is not one size fits all,” ADF president Jeff Gottke said in the release. “We are hoping to learn more about what ages of care, location, hours and price points are needed; the answer is all of the above, but we can use this data to better deploy resources to meet the largest needs.

To take the survey, follow this link forms.gle/9EiUmRyb1GbMJAZr9, or visit KnoxADF.com. The survey closes on Friday, March 4.

Anyone living or working in Knox County is encouraged to participate in the public survey. The foundation said gathering as many responses as possible will ensure the results are correct and informative.

The Area Development Foundation acts as the central clearinghouse for all economic development in Knox County. ADF’s mission is to create more high-quality/good-paying jobs, match good employers to job-ready workers, and advance efforts to support livable communities throughout Knox County.
