WILBERFORCE – Recently, four members of the Mount Vernon FFA chapter competed in the state finals of the Ohio FFA Agricultural Biotechnology Career Development Event. The students learned and applied their knowledge through an online test. Their scores on this test earned them a spot in the final in-person competition hosted by Central State University in Wilberforce.
During the preliminary testing, the team placed 18th in the state. During the finals competition and demonstration of lab practicums, the team climbed five spots with a final placing of 13th in the state. Members who competed were Vivian Noble, Layne Dailey, Sam Ladig, Ansley Daubenmier, Roan Ramey, Chase Temple, Brett Mast, Jacklyn Auker, Emma Croghan, and Grace Laymon. The team members invited to participate for state finals were Daubmenier, Noble, Laymon (who earned a sixth-place individual finish), and Dailey.
307 FFA members from across Ohio competed in this competition.
