MOUNT VERNON – Robert R. Corcoran, 84, of Mount Vernon passed away on Jan. 28, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 24, 1937, to Robert H. and Ethel I. (Deem) Corcoran of Mount Vernon.
Bob was a U.S. National Guard Veteran. He was a 50-year member of the Moose Lodge. He was also a member of VFW and AMVETS in Mount Vernon. Bob loved going to flea markets and Auctions. He enjoyed looking for guns, tools, cars, boats and trucks. Bob also enjoyed boating and fishing in Lake Erie. Bob and Mary Jo enjoyed many trips to Florida.
Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Jo Corcoran; grandchildren Sean and Lauren and one great-grandson; brothers Steven Corcoran of Longmont, CO, and John Corcoran of Mount Vernon; a niece Kathy of Atlanta, GA; nephews Andy Ferguson of Holland, MI, Kevin and Brian Corcoran of Colorado; good friends Ron Goodwin and Bob Harrod.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Phillip Corcoran; a daughter Judy Diane Corcoran Proth and a sister Lois Corcoran.
Memorial contributions can be made in Bob’s memory to Kindred Hospice or The Alzheimer’s Association.
Calling hours will be Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, at the Snyder Funeral Home ~ Lasater Chapel from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. with a funeral service at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Liberty Chapel Cemetery.
