BREMERTON, Wa. – Allen “Al” R. Miller of Bremerton, Washington, 82, passed away on Jan. 13, 2022.

Al was born in Mount Vernon, OH, to Isaac "Burl" and Gertrude (Hawk) Miller, one of seven children. He graduated from Howard High School and the University of Central Florida in Orlando, with a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering.

Al was a patriot; he served active-duty Air Force, Army Reserve, and Navy Reserve.  As an engineer, Al worked Civil Service until retirement. He then served his community for over a decade as a Commissioner at the Port of Brownsville, Bremerton, WA.

Al married his wife, Judy (DeBusk), in 1968 in Middletown, OH. They moved to Florida, where they had three children. In 1986, they relocated to Bremerton, WA. He always enjoyed reading books (particularly westerns) and loved animals, especially his pet dogs and birds. As an avid outdoors man, Al enjoyed hunting and gardening; he was active in the Master Gardeners, Peninsula Fruit Club and Rocky Mountain Elks Foundation.  

He is survived by his wife of more than 53 years, Judy of Bremerton, WA; his daughters Amy (Mark) Jeppesen of Scappoose, OR, and Jennifer Miller of Bremerton, WA; son Brad Miller (Adrienne) of Bothell, WA, and grandchildren Emma Jeppesen, Ben and Avery Miller. Brothers Carl, Mount Vernon, WA, Alvin “Roy” (Linda), of Mount Gilead,  and Tom (Sue) of Howard.

He was proceeded by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Anna Mae and Eugene Bennett, Danville, brother and sister-in-law Dwight and Laura Miller, Las Cruces, NM, brother Jim Miller, Fredericktown, and sister-in-law Georgia Miller, Mount Vernon, WA.
