GAMBIER – Daniel L. Cline, 68, of Gambier, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, at his home.

He was born on July 17, 1953 in Mount Vernon to the late Dana and Edna (Stephenson) Cline.

Those who knew Dan knew he had an ornery spirit, always liked a good time and a laugh. Danny enjoyed many years of being an owner/operator of his own semi then in later years driving for others. He had a passion for riding his Harley. When the kids were still at home a lot of his time was spent with them in 4-H showing horses and hogs and enjoying the small farm life. He loved his grandchildren and got a kick out of watching them grow. Sadly, since his wife’s death, he seemed to just be getting by until he could see her again.

Daniel is survived by his sons, Daniel A. (Tammy) Cline of St. Louisville and Bernard “Buzz” (Angel) Austermiller of Newark; a daughter, Brandy (Douglas) Nissley of Danville; and nine grandchildren, Bryar Cline, Bernard “Bryce” Austermiller, Aidyn Austermiller, Wyatt Nissley, Dana Cline, Wade Nissley, Addison Crampton, Whitney Nissley and Luke Austermiller.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bridget Cline, in 2019 and a sister, Linda Bush.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 30, from 2-4 p.m. at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road in Mount Vernon. Where funeral services will be held on Monday starting at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating.  Burial will be in Martinsburg Methodist Cemetery.
