MARTINSBURG – Willie May “Billie” Flack, 99, of the Martinsburg area passed away peacefully on Jan, 26, 2022, at Arlington Care Center in Newark.

She was born in Cheatham County, Tenn., the daughter of Grover and Sarah Bess.

She lived a simple life and enjoyed a lifetime of working on the family farm. Billie liked to sew, cook and bake. Her homemade pies were the best! She also enjoyed her vegetable garden, canning and tending to the beautiful flowers in her yard. Her favorite pastime was playing cards with family and friends.  

Billie was one of the founding members of the Bladensburg Vol. Fire Dept Auxiliary and a longtime member of the Bladensburg Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughters, Janet Booth of Martinsburg and Donna (Guy) Cooperider of Pickerington; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Flack; a brother, Bailey Bess; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Harold Blue; and a son-in-law, Rodger Booth.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. in Bladensburg Cemetery with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating. 

The Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel is handling the services for the Flack family.
