Knox Community Hospital welcomed Dr. Casey Babbitt and Dr. Kelsy Durbin to the medical staff.
Babbitt is a board-certified physician in general surgery who received her medical degree from the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University in 2016 and completed her general surgery residency in 2021.
While at Wright State, Babbitt was chief resident, completed robotic surgical training and took two mission trips to Peru.
Babbitt will be seeing patients in the Knox Medical Pavilion-General Surgery Office. She has recently moved to Mount Vernon from Dayton with her husband and two dogs to immerse herself in the community and get to know her patients.
A few things about Babbitt: She is conversational in Spanish. She enjoys travel overseas, gardening, video games, hiking and kayaking.
Durbin is a Danville native and is very excited about returning to Knox County after training to provide care for her family, friends and community.
Dr. Durbin is a board-certified physician in opthalmology. She received her medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 2017 and went on to MedStar Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center for her opthomalogy residency in 2021.
During her residency, Durbin was part of the Residency Mentor Program.
Dr. Durbin will be seeing patients at the Department of Speciality Care, Ophthalmology, at 1355 Yauger Road in Mount Vernon.
