Candidate Statement:
Born and raised in Knox County, I have deep roots and an appreciation for all our little village has to offer. Prior to moving to Gambier to start our family, my husband and I lived in a historic German Village in Columbus for 10 years, where we were very involved in participating in and volunteering for community activities. We moved to Gambier because we knew it would be the perfect setting to raise our family in and we loved the rural, yet cultured, walkable village with lots of outdoor offerings to take advantage of. I understand the need for the village to distinguish itself from the college, yet partner with them where goals are the same. I hope to bring my design background to council to help strengthen the village’s overall aesthetic and branded message and identity. I believe the key to keeping Gambier a vibrant place is community involvement, thoughtful retail offerings, as well as upgraded community gathering spaces for connectivity and events. I hope to bring my background and experiences of living in a historic, quaint village to helping maintain and shape the Village of Gambier into a desirable, safe place for people to live and visit.
