Brian was born June 12, 1965, in Wilmington to Richard O. and Kathy K. (Holmes) McKinley, who reside in Howard. He graduated from Wilmington High School and attended Cedarville University.

He enjoyed working in home health services, where he truly felt needed and satisfied, helping those in need.
His parents noticed Brian’s early interest in sports. Immediately after high school, he graduated from Harry Wendelstedt’s School for Umpires. He enjoyed coaching baseball and football. He coached football and baseball at all levels from colt to high school, becoming well-known and respected among coaching staffs around the Danville and Wilmington Ohio areas.
Brian’s faith and family were important to him throughout his entire life, and he touched the lives of many athletes and friends with his wit, humor and Christian beliefs.
