Whether you need interior or exterior residential or commercial painting, the pros at Elite Pro Painting make sure any services you need are done in impeccable fashion.

Owner Matt McKinley said the company employs skilled painters who go above and beyond to ensure a job is done right.

“(This) is a self-owned company providing quality interior and exterior painting and stain work,” he told the Mount Vernon News.

McKinley said the company was expanding its services and will now offer LVT (luxury vinyl tile) flooring, which is the ideal combination for flooring products that are elegantly designed, highly durable and easy to maintain.

Elite Pro Painting distinguishes itself from its competitors by being knowledgeable and versatile, along with providing great service.

“I like to think that we provide a better finish, and my crew is very trustworthy,” he said. “We typically stay in the residential side of the business. We do work for a contractor in Columbus that does do anywhere from 700-square-foot to 2,500-square-foot projects. We also do interior and exterior work, with most jobs taking three days to a week to complete.”

McKinley said that there wasn’t one particular project that stands out among the many he has done in town.

“There was a large spiral staircase here in Mount Vernon that was my favorite,” he said. “I worked with Tyler Andrew on this project, the owner of a floor refinishing company called Andrew’s Restoration.”

McKinley said he works alongside another employee and approaches his work with an old-school mentality.

“I’m old school for the most part when it comes to technology, I know I’m only 32, but that’s how I am,” he said. “However, I do use a sprayer, which is my No. 1 tool. I prefer when I can give people a sprayed finish, especially on trim work.”

McKinley said he has been painting for about 14 years and has been working for himself for four years.

“Not much has really changed (painting wise). It’s been subtle. Changing years ago to using an 18-inch roller cover helped speed things up,” he said. “One of the biggest changes I made was to start using latex (water-based) clear coats on the floors and steps.”
