MOUNT VERNON – Mount Vernon Nazarene University is doubling the excitement of Homecoming 2021, Nov. 12-13, by hosting twice the number of class reunions during a weekend marked to reunite classmates, faculty, staff and friends.
“There is something special about reconnecting with friends who helped shape us and that is exactly why college class reunions are so meaningful,” said Executive Director of Alumni Relations and Advancement Brad Kochis (’94). “We are excited to welcome alumni back to campus to celebrate and reminisce with their college friends and beloved faculty and staff.”
President Dr. Henry W. Spaulding II invited alumni, faculty, staff and friends to join him for the President’s Prayer Breakfast at 8 a.m. Nov. 12. The opening event is an opportunity for the MVNU community to come together to offer prayer for all needs of the university, he said.
Homecoming Chapel at 10:20 a.m. Nov. 12 will include special recognition of Golden Grads, members of the classes celebrating 50 years since their commencement. This year, the classes of 1970 and 1971 will be lauded. In addition, Distinguished and Honorary Alumni will be announced.
“We are especially excited to recognize and celebrate our alumni at their 50th Homecoming reunion. Next to our gratitude to God for calling MVNU into existence, we are most grateful for our alumni,” said Kochis.
