MOUNT VERNON – Hospice of North Central Ohio hosted its annual gratitude picnic on Sept. 16 as a drive-through this year due to COVID-19. This event, sponsored by the Bad Apple Pub, was to show appreciation for veterans and first responders and the spouses who support them.
"On behalf of the Bad Apple Pub, myself, and the Boucher family, I would like to thank every veteran and first responder for their service and community support," said Tonya Boucher, member of the Boucher family, owners of The Bad Apple Pub who sponsored the event. "This gratitude luncheon is just a small thank you for a much bigger cause and sacrifice that all veterans and first responders deal with and have dealt with on a daily basis. My family thanks you for your service and dedication.”
“Thanks again for the lunch box meals for MVPD staff," said Captain Scott A. McKnight of the Mount Vernon Police Department. "Food was great, and a big hit with the staff. Thanks for everything you and the staff do on a daily basis for our community.”
“It is our privilege to show appreciation for the veterans and first responders in our community," said volunteer coordinatorDanielle England, Volunteer Coordinator, Hospice of North Central Ohio. "Without the dedication, commitment and devotion of these individuals, our community would not be the same. We would not experience the freedoms and peace which we are so fortunate to share in. We say thank you to all those who have served in these areas, and we're so glad The Bad Apple Pub graciously provided the opportunity to show gratitude in this drive through picnic.”
