NEWARK – Students interested in working in health care but unsure what program they want to pursue can learn about all Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) health-care programs, tour labs and engage with current faculty during one of two upcoming health-care visit days.

The sessions are scheduled for either Oct. 29 or Nov. 19 from 1:30-3 p.m., during which degree and certificate programs will be discussed, according to a press release.

COTC degree and certificate options include associate degrees, diagnostic medical sonography technology, health services technology, LPN to associate degree nursing (RN), medical coding, nursing technology (RN), paramedic to associate degree nursing (RN), radiologic science technology and surgical technology.

Available certificates include behavioral and mental health, community health, electrocardiography technician, home healthcare provider, phlebotomy, practical nursing, state-tested nurse aide (STNA) and surgical technology.

Health-care visit days will be offered with appropriate safety precautions being taken. All visitors will be expected to adhere to COTC’s visitor policies. Groups will be limited in size, and registration to attend will be required. With the ongoing public health emergency, admissions will communicate any changes to the visit days schedule.

Register for the Oct. 29 or Nov. 19 health-care visit days at cotc.edu; select "Calendar" on the top of the page, then scroll to find the event listing on the date you wish to register.

Students who already know the health-care program they are interested in and want to learn more about that specific program are encouraged to attend an information meeting in addition to or instead of a visit day.
