McElroy joins Danville Police Department

Chief Daniel J. Weckesser and staff of the Danville Police Department would like to introduce our newest member, Officer David C. McElroy.

McElroy is a native of Mount Vernon. He brings to our community 20 years of law enforcement experience. He has an associate's degree in criminal justice along with expertise and experience in many facets of law enforcement. 

McElroy is certified in community patrol, criminal investigations, narcotics investigations, sex crime investigations, death investigations and child and elderly abuse investigations, and is also certified as a school resource officer in Ohio. 

McElroy said he is "honored to be a part of the Danville Police Department and the community. I look forward to assisting in keeping the residents and visitors safe."
