MOUNT VERNON – The St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) community has welcomed Cecelia Pitt as the new principal to the local parochial Christian school, according to a press release.
Pitt has been an educator for nine years and began her career in Lancaster at St. Mary School. She has spent the last eight years as a middle school math teacher and STEM teacher in the Newark City school system.
Pitt earned an undergraduate degree in middle childhood education from Walsh University and a master of arts in educational administration from the American College of Education in 2017.
“I am very excited to have Cecelia Pitt as the new principal at St. Vincent de Paul School,” said Father Mark Hammond, Pastor for St. Vincent de Paul Church. “She is a vibrant leader and a person of deep faith. She seems to be a perfect fit for this position, as she has not only the required degrees and certificates, but she also has a sincere desire to play a crucial role in sharing our Catholic faith with the next generation. I truly look forward to working with her in the days, weeks, months and years ahead.”
Pitt started as the new principal at SVDP school in July 2021.
