City to have controlled goose hunt

MOUNT VERNON – The City of Mount Vernon is accepting applications for participation in a controlled goose hunt at Ariel-Foundation Park.

Hunting dates will be Sept. 7 and 10. Hunting hours will be 30 minutes before sunrise to 1 p.m. 

Applications are available at the City of Mount Vernon Parks Department Office at 1700 Old Delaware Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. 

The deadline to submit applications is 3:30 p.m. Aug. 31. 

Hunters will be randomly drawn for each date. 

All applicants are required to attend a mandatory orientation meeting at 4 p.m. Sept. 2.
