The Knox County Park District is reporting the Eagle Scout Bridge on the Woodlands Trail was destroyed over the weekend of July 17-18.

"This post brings a lot of disappointment in so many ways to Wolf Run Park," Park District officials said on Facebook. "Please be aware that the Eagle Scout Bridge on the Woodlands Trail was destroyed over the weekend. A large live oak tree, totally came down. We are so very thankful no one was hurt."

Officials went on to say the bridge came about in 2018 as Andrew McKinley worked to receive his Eagle Scout honor. The trail is closed indefinitely, the post reported.

"We are thankful for our Operations Managers and Interns for the initial clean-up," Park District officials stated.
