MVCSD adds 9 new teachers, 2 principals for 2021-22 school year

At the June meeting of the Mount Vernon Consolidated School District, the following newly hired teachers were approved:

Christopher Japiske received his bachelor's degree in music education from Otterbein University in May 2014. He will be a music (orchestra) teacher at Mount Vernon Middle School. 

Brianna Chenevey received her bachelor's degree in middle childhood education at MVNU in April 2021. She will be a social studies teacher at Mount Vernon Middle School. 

Meghan Noonan received her master's degree in speech-language pathology from Miami University in May 2021. She will be a speech-language pathologist for Dan Emmett. 

Tyler Guilliams received his master's degree in integrated math education from MVNU in May 2009. He will be a math teacher at Mount Vernon High School. 

Mary “Frankie” Pumphrey received her bachelor's degree in education from Ohio State University in May 2015. She will be a third-grade teacher at Pleasant Street. 

Cheryl Gibbs received her bachelor's degree in psychology from MVNU in 1988 and a teaching license through Ashland University. She will be a reading specialist at Twin Oak. 

Amy Kachline received her bachelor's degree in elementary emotional impairment from Eastern Michigan University in April 2018. She will be an intervention specialist at Dan Emmett.

Madison Vipperman received her bachelor's degree in education from MVNU in April 2017. She will be a reading specialist at Wiggin Street. 

Kevia Calkins received her master's degree in education from MVNŲ May 2011. She will be a kindergarten teacher at Pleasant Street.

In addition, the following administrative staff were hired:

Robin Elliott received her master 's degree in teaching from Marygrove College in May 2002. She will be an assistant principal at Mount Vernon Middle School. 

Jonnah Hetzel received her master's degree in Education from Bowling Green State University in Aug 2014. She will be assistant principal at Mount Vernon High School.
