MOUNT VERNON – The Knox County Chamber of Commerce held their annual golf outing at Chapel Hill Golf Course on May 27.
The Laurels of Mount Vernon was again our corporate sponsor for the 27th year. The Chamber of Commerce appreciates their continued partnership of this event.
The outing is always a success due to the support of the Knox County business community. The event was made possible by prize sponsor Park National Bank and food sponsor Riverside Recovery Services. Dumbaugh Insurance graciously sponsored the golf carts, and The Bad Apple Pub was this year’s beverage sponsor. Kidwell & Cunningham sponsored the morning’s breakfast, and Serenity Home Improvements brought back the Whiffle Putting Contest. Mount Vernon Nazarene University sponsored both the putting green and driving range. Eagle sponsors continue to assist in the funding of the outing, and this year’s sponsors included Ariel Corporation, Buffalo Wild Wings, The Energy Cooperative, Griffin Insurance and RCI Mechanical.
Thanks to a beautiful day, the 27th Spring Swing went off without a hitch. Taking home first place in this scramble event was the team from Griffin Insurance. Coming in second- and third place were the teams from RCI Mechanical and State Farm Insurance-Tim Workman, respectively.
The Knox County Chamber of Commerce extends its appreciation to all proximity- and hole sponsors, as well as to all 36 teams that descended upon Chapel Hill Golf Course. The Chamber staff would also like to thank each volunteer who took time out of their schedule to continue the tradition of one of the best golf outings in the county.
