MOUNT VERNON – Audrey Jean White, 91, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home. She was born on July 13, 1929, in Youngstown, to the late Harold and Amy (Chapman) Smith.
Audrey was a member of the Church of Christ in Mineral Ridge. She loved a good laugh, playing cards and all things chocolate.
She is survived by her sons, William H. (Lavon) White III of Vineland, New Jersey, and Bruce D. (Kathy) White of Mount Vernon; three grandchildren, Alicia (Kevin) Courtney of Dagsboro, Delaware, Andrew J. White of Columbus and Ian J. White of Cleveland Heights; one great-grandchild, Kylie Courtney; and eldest sister, LaVonne Rogers.
In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, William H. White Jr.; two brothers, Fred Smith and Rod Smith; and two sisters, Joanne Sanders and Sally Yavorski.
In keeping with Audrey’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private service at a later date.
In grateful recognition of the excellent care Audrey received from the Ohio Eastern Star Home and Hospice of North Central Ohio, the family requests that any donations be directed accordingly.
