MOUNT VERNON – Kevin L. Clinedinst, 40, of Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 17, 2021. He was born on Oct. 24, 1980, in Heidelberg, Germany, the son of Earl Clinedinst and Kathleen (Rine) Swanger.

Kevin was a 1999 graduate of East Knox High School and currently owned and operated Duke’s Quick Lube in Mount Vernon. On June 14, 2007, he married the love of his life, Kerra Brown.

Kevin had a contagious and energetic personality. With that big smile and quick wit, he always instilled energy and laughter in any gathering he attended. Kevin truly had a heart of gold — sometimes to a fault — as no matter what, he was always wanting to do for others.

In his free time, Kevin spent much of his younger years racing cars. He enjoyed speed and the adrenaline rush it provided. He was also a golf enthusiast — though enthusiast could be too simple of a word, as Kevin could spend hours on the golf course competing, jeering and enjoying the comradery of friends and family. Kevin could also be described as a family man, as the most important things to him were his wife, children, parents and sister. He took great pride in being the best husband, father, son and brother to his family. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Kerra (Brown) Clinedinst; his children, Kingston, Kamille, Kye and Kue; his parents, Earl Clinedinst and Kathleen (James) Swanger; and his siblings, Ashley (Brandon Baumgardner) Clinedinst, Keith Swanger, Levi (Tina) Swanger, Katie Swanger and Keelie (Ryan) Lawhorn.

Besides his grandparents, Kevin was preceded in death by his uncle, John Clinedinst.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. The family will observe a private service and burial at Mound View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for the future educational expenses of Kevin’s children.
