Wayne Grange met at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 21. Worthy Master Jordan Miller opened the meeting.

Margaret Ann Ruhl gave a legislative report that on Saturday, June 12, there will be a conference at the DoubleTree in Newark. Congressman Balderson and State Representative Russo will be speaking on federal and state government policies. All granges should be working on resolutions to get into the Ohio State Grange.

The Women's Activities Committee announced they were to serve a meal on June 8 for the Knox County Township Association. It will be a dinner at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Building Dining Room.

Dee Smith reported on the Pop Committee for the Knox County Fair. You should be there 15 minutes before your shift starts, with shifts of 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Wayne Grange needs workers on Sunday afternoon and evening, Wednesday afternoon, Thursday evening, Friday evening, and Saturday afternoon and evening. If you can work any of these dates, let Dee know.

Grange booths are to be put up between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on July 22. They will be on display all week, with judging on the Monday of the fair. We will put up two booths, with one from Wayne Grange and one for the Women's Auxiliary.

Jordan Miller presented to our secretary Cathy Morey a Distinguished Secretary Award from the Ohio State Grange. Morey filed her reports to the Ohio State Grange secretary, Deb Hamilton, in a timely manner. This is the fifth time Morey has received this award.

Dee Smith reported that she and Cindy Campbell attended the Spring Fling hosted by the Ohio State Grange in Troy, Ohio. They listened to speakers explain how dairy is made into yogurt, and they talked about the current scams to watch out for around Ohio. They made a craft by painting a board with a quilt pattern.

Belinda Litt asked if the Women's Auxiliary was ready to begin meeting. No comment, so they will wait another month before starting to meet.

Margaret Ann Ruhl asked about cleaning up around the grange hall to make it look nicer for Memorial Day. Willis and Dee Smith helped on Wednesday, May 26; and then on Thursday, May 27, Dee, Belinda Litt and Margaret Ann Ruhl helped finish.

Chaplin Elaine Hillier presented the annual Memorial Service. The only member who died within the past year was Betty Rinehart. Hillier read a poem, "Count Your Blessings," and ended with a prayer.

Lecturer Dee Smith presented a short skit with Belinda Litt and Willis Smith coming to a restaurant. Willis was getting angry at the waitress about not having what he wanted. Very cute skit.

Ed Moore's name was drawn but he was not present. There were 12 members, one guest and two kids present.

There was only one sick member to remember: Skip Edwards, as he is not feeling well and could use some cards.

Next meeting will be on Friday, June 18, at Wayne Grange. It will be dairy night, and everyone is to bring something for the program about dairy.
