MOUNT VERNON – Visitors to the Friends of the Library Book Warehouse will find well-stocked shelves after its May 29 opening.

Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays (through mid-November), the warehouse is located at 13081 Coffing Road in Mount Vernon. The book warehouse will be closed Fourth of July weekend and Labor Day weekend.

Thousands of new and used books, DVDs, CDs, cassettes, records, magazines, VHS tapes, puzzles, games and more for all ages are available. A free book ticket will be handed out to children under age 18 during each visit.

The popular $5 donation-per-bag "Stuff It!" sale will continue for the summer. New or clean recycled grocery bags will be provided.

The book warehouse is following CDC recommendations for health and sanitizing protocols, and donated materials may be dropped off during normal business hours.

To volunteer or to sign up for community service credit, stop in. Volunteers of all ages and abilities can set their own hours and help in a variety of ways.

Friends of the Library donations help support public library special events and programs in Mount Vernon, Fredericktown, Danville and Gambier.
