MOUNT VERNON – William Keith (Bill) Frary Jr. died on Dec. 12, 2020, at Otterbein Senior Life Community in Lebanon, where he and his loving wife Sue had resided together until her death in June of 2018, two days shy of their 64th wedding anniversary.
Bill was born in Wooster, Ohio, on April 25, 1929, to William Keith Frary and Mary Frary. The family, then including Betty Jo Frary and John Frary, moved to Mount Vernon on Jan. 1, 1940, where Keith opened a grocery store.
Bill graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1947 and enrolled in Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. There he met his wife-to-be, Sue Anne Gross Frary. They were married in 1952 while Bill was serving in the U.S. Army. When he left the army, he worked in finance for several years before making a career as a federal savings and loan examiner for the Federal Home Loan Bank Board. He finished his career in Washington, D.C., retiring in 1989. Bill was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church at Otterbein and died trusting in the promises of his Savior.
He is survived by his sons, Stephen W. Frary and his wife Debra K. Frary of Youngsville, North Carolina, and Keith M. Frary and his wife Bridgett Frary of Niskayuna, New York; and his granddaughters, Victoria Frary, Alexandra Frary and Whitney Frary.
As it was not possible to gather together at the time of his death, there will be a brief memorial service at 1 p.m. on June 12 at the Scatter Garden at Otterbein Lebanon.
